This is an exhibition facility commemorating Takashi Yanase, a manga artist from Kahoku town, Kochi prefecture. Mr. Yanase writes works one after another, so as the exhibition changes, it becomes an ‘in progress’ museum. To open the museum architecture, which tends to be windowless to the surrounding environment, the main exhibition room and theatre are placed inside the ‘skin’ part of the building, the central ‘body’ part is completely hollowed out so you can see through to the mountain behind it. We also used the excavated earth to create an artificial hill in front of the building. The bridge makes it possible to go to and from the plaza on the national highway side without intersecting with cars.
