A private residence built near the green belt of the Zenpukuji river in Suginami, Tokyo. To take advantage of the long narrow site, we split the gabled building volume in 2 and shifted them back and forth to create a parking space at the front and a garden at the back.
Bedrooms are located on the 1st floor and the open plan living room is on the 2nd floor. The design concept is that of an “Empty box” - the residents can freely arrange the interior of the house’s shell.
